Alice Lee So Fong, the founder of CasaSito, has lived and traveled in many countries for the last 20 years. In 1999, she started working in developing countries as a volunteer and has participated in many different projects such as house-building, environmental conservation, HIV/AIDS education, and social development.
In 2002, Alice became a member of the Mariposa Association of Germany and since then has been working as their coordinator in Guatemala. In 2006, she was asked to be the Guatemalan agent of the Give Kids A Chance Foundation of Canada, and in 2008, she also became the agent of the Developing Scholars Association of Canada. On July 1, 2004, with her husband Greg Schwendinger, Alice founded the CasaSito Association in the United States. On August 25, 2009, she became the Board Chairperson of the newly-formed CasaSito Guatemala.

Maritza Ortiz joined the CasaSito staff in January 2011 and is currently serving as the Executive Director. She oversees the areas of administration, public relations, volunteer program, and extracurricular activities. She also assists Alice with developing and executing fundraising strategies. Maritza was born and raised in Puerto Rico, but worked in the field of education and non-profit organizations in the United States for over 14 years. |

Lourdes González ("Sisi") is a psychologist with a degree from the University of San Carlos in Guatemala City and has been part of the CasaSito family for 3 years. Currently she is the Technical Director and heads the Scholarship Program, Education Programs, and all activities focused on counseling and psychological development. |

Paulo Monteiro comes from the island of Florianópolis (Floripa) in Brazil. He has experience coordinating and presenting events on cruise ships, managing international staffs, and creating a corporate social responsibility program for a hotel. Paulo is serving as CasaSito’s Activity Coordinator and he will be managing all of our extracurricular festivals. He is also working to improve our education programs in rural areas. |

Miriam Rosario Valle Valle is the assistant coordinator of the Scholarship Program, assisting in the evaluation of new scholars. She graduated from USAC in 2007 with a degree in psychology. Before joining CasaSito she worked in Guatemalan NGO educational projects and in Escualas Abiertas directly with children from low-income and at-risk families. |

Greg Schwendinger, the president of the association (USA), is an engineer by profession and a kayaker by passion. Fortunately, a travel bug cut his engineering career short and now he has found true love in Guatemala in more ways than one. |

Salvador González is responsible for maintaining the volunteer house and also assists Alicia, Amanda and Sisi in the office. He has studied seven semesters of Electrical Engineering and is an electrician by trade. |
